End of Year Performance Standards
Reading: By the end of 4th grade, students should be able to read grade level text (S) between 118 - 130 wpm with 98% accuracy. They should also be able to answer questions about the text.
Writing: By the end of the 4th grade, students should be able to write a multi-paragraph essay with an introduction containing a thesis statement. Transition words and phrases should be used to connect ideas and details. The essay should have a strong conclusion. Students should use a variety of sentences (including complex sentences), strong word choice and descriptive details. Spelling and puncutation should be strong.
Math: By the end of 4th grade, students should be able to recite 100 basic multiplication and division facts to 12 in five minutes or under.
