For the first time, the district is operating two campuses while beginning the process of adding secondary grade levels each year.

The proposed VATRE would provide nearly $263,000 in additional annual operating revenue as those ongoing costs increase.

PreK-2nd had great way to start their Monday morning!! They learned so much! (More pictures on Facebook) Plus, each grade level has learned about “Community Helpers” and PreK is learning the letter “Hh” this week! They saw a “helicopter, helpers, Heroes, helmets” and so much more!

🎶 **Freeze & Spell!** ✏️One of 2nd grade's favorite ways to practice heart words! Students walk and dance around the room while the music plays. When the music stops, they **freeze, find a whiteboard, and write the heart word called out!** Then the music starts and we do it all over again! 🎵

Coupland ISD’s proposed VATRE is a three-cent increase to the district’s Maintenance and Operations tax rate.

If approved by voters, the three additional cents would generate nearly $263,000 in additional operating revenue each year.

VATRE stands for Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election.

Under Texas law, a school district must receive voter approval before adopting an M&O tax rate above a certain level.

Coupland ISD’s proposed VATRE would increase the district’s M&O tax rate by three cents.

Maintenance and Operations, or M&O, pays for the district’s day-to-day expenses, including employee salaries and benefits, utilities, transportation, instructional services and other operating costs.

Interest and Sinking, or I&S, is used to repay voter-approved bond debt.

The proposed VATRE would affect the district’s M&O funding.
